I made an AI Agent to buy ice cream when I'm in class

Yes, it’s kind of wild. But it’s also a snapshot of the future of autonomous AI.🍦🤖

With some tweaks to an open-source GitHub repo, I built an autonomous AI agent that scrapes Amazon, selects my favorite ice cream, and orders it. But this little hack is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to AI Agents. I’ve been talking to leaders in consulting and business about the real strategic questions AI agents raise for companies. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟱 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗘𝗢𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

🔹𝟭. 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆, 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆?

Are AI agents here to automate repetitive tasks (efficiency), enhance human decision-making (intelligence), or operate entirely hands-off (autonomy)? Each path has different business risks and rewards.

🔹𝟮. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀?

Should AI agents act independently, or should humans sign off on key decisions? What are key decision points? And when an AI makes a mistake—who’s accountable? The employee, the AI, or the company?

🔹𝟯. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲?

Are we up-skilling employees, replacing jobs, or creating entirely new roles? How do companies balance with responsible adoption?

🔹𝟰. 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁, 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀?

Can we log and explain every decision AI makes? How do we prevent bias, misinformation, or unauthorized actions? How to ensure user can override AI timely?

🔹𝟱. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲?

Does deploying AI agents give a company a strategic moat, or will competitors quickly copy the capabilities? Where does the true differentiation lie?

💡 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗶𝘁:

Shout out to Browser Use using which I customized to scrape Amazon and automate the checkout flow. It could also write emails, add LinkedIn connections to Salesforce etc.. The potential is massive.

Is this the dawn of AI that handles our errands, or a sneak peek at the security headaches we’re about to face? Let’s discuss. 👇
